Tour Description

Driving in between the mountains filled with colorful trees in the fall forms our first expression of Sahneh. As we get closer to the historical cemetery in which the commemoration of Seyyed Khalil is being held, we start hearing the calming sound of the tanbur. Many people have gathered in this region to connect and explore traditional local music of Kurdish people.

During IranAmaze 2-day trip, not only we will dig deeper into the culture of the region but also visit some of the historical essentials of Iran. From the UNESCO heritages of Bisotun and Taq-E Bostan to the local houses called “Jam khaneh,” we’ll explore the many wonders this more unpopular part of Iran has to offer. The sound of tanbur will follow us along everywhere in the region. The music takes us on a journey through Kermanshah province in Iran tour.

    Story of the Day

After having a local breakfast in Kermanshah, we’ll head to Sahneh village. We’ll head uphill to the historic cemetery in which Seyyed Khalil’s tomb is located. Many people will come from a close and afar to prepare the cemetery for the evening ceremony. After watching the preparation for a while, we’ll head to a tanbur-making shop. We’ll have a first-hand experience of how Tanbur is made and what makes it so unique. Afterward, we’ll be heading back to the cemetery. People will be paying their respect to Seyyed Khalil in many ways such as playing tanbur, reading poems, or only by just silently standing there in silence. We’ll get lost in the music, poems, and unheard stories of the region. Our adventure continues in local houses called “Jam Khaneh,” in which we’ll be hearing the heartfelt Kurdish sounds and seeing spiritual dance practices such as Sama until the sunrise. We’ll rest through the tunes in a local house to continue our journey the next day.
