Parents Are Right

“Wait; what? Do you have forests in Iran? I thought it’s just desert everywhere!”

That’s what they asked me every single time I showed my friends in California a photo of Iran!

Even though both my parents were from Iran, I never got to go there as I was busy traveling around the world, leaving my heritage behind.

My parents repeatedly kept telling me how beautiful their country is and what I am missing out not going to Iran! But, I was always annoyed with how insisting they were for me to visit where they came from so once and for all I decided to travel to Iran, so they stop talking about it for the rest of my life!

I had three weeks of spare time. So, I decided to take a tour through 9 villages they said were so unique!

The variety of landscapes this country held within astonished me. From the greenery of the forests in the north to the colorful mountains of the south and the deserts and historic villages in central Iran, I was worried about the many stories my children had to hear from me about Iran wondering how annoying of a mother I could become!

I got to explore wonders beyond the picture that was drawn in my mind by the mainstream media. I was diving deeper into the unique places I only had time to visit this time! Would you tag along this special tour next time?
